Hello

GRACE Students' Magical Journey to Disney Imagination Campus

What an incredible experience! Our GRACE students had the amazing opportunity to explore the world of immersive storytelling at Walt Disney World’s Imagination Campus. Through hands-on activities, they delved into the principles of visual literacy and discovered how storytelling engages all the senses in unique ways.

One of the highlights of the trip was a backstage experience where students collaborated on blue sky concepts, designing their own immersive world. Their task? To bring to life a universe filled with knights, a magical library, and animals that come alive!

At Magic Kingdom, students participated in the Theme Park Design workshop, where they learned about the essential role of collaboration in design. They explored the fascinating world of Imagineering and discovered some of the 250 careers within the field. Using real Imagineering principles, they designed their own theme parks, emphasizing the power of diverse perspectives in creativity. To cap off the experience, students pitched their ideas to the "investors"—played by our GRACE teachers—making it a truly hands-on and engaging activity.

Adding to the magic, our students also took part in a performance workshop, bringing I’ve Got a Dream from Tangled to life. Under the guidance of a Disney teaching artist, they explored the importance of ensemble work, learned casting techniques, and honed their performance skills in a dynamic and collaborative setting.

This trip was an unforgettable experience, blending creativity, innovation, and performance—just like the magic of Disney itself!
