Distinguished Honorary Alumni - Alex and Lucille Sossaman

s0ssAlex and Lucille Sossaman, parents of four GRACE graduates, have been a valued part of the GRACE community for many years. Alex served on the GRACE Board of Trustees for 10 years, primarily on the finance and strategic planning committees. When called, he served as the school’s first chief financial officer to grow the finance office into a sustainable function for a growing private school. His most notable accomplishments were to lead the school through the purchase of the Upper Campus facility and to invest in and renovate much of the school facilities on both the Upper and Lower Campuses, along with hiring the school’s first  facilities manager, BJay Brown. Alex also worked with the board and both principals to recruit and hire current GRACE head of school, Eric Bradley. Along with Lucille, Alex was involved with multiple sports teams and could often be found keeping scorebooks at girls' basketball games. Lucille was a servant leader in GRACE’s intercessory prayer ministry for over 15 years. Participants in that ministry gathered to pray for the school leadership, teachers, and students weekly. Lucille faithfully served the school by helping in multiple classrooms, with sports teams, on field trips and wherever needed.

Alumnus of the Year - David Wickward '16

After graduating from GRACE, David Wickward attended Liberty University where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in religious studies with a focus on the New Testament. During his time at Liberty, David worked for the Office of Spiritual Development where he served as a Resident Shepherd. David spent the majority of his college career ministering and caring for other Liberty students. Today, David serves at Revolution Church in a number of ways but has a heart for its student ministry. Most Wednesdays, David can be found teaching the Word of God to middle school and high school students. Those around David would say that David has a passion for reaching the next generation with the gospel and spends the bulk of his time caring for people – both in the next generation and others. In his free time, David collects vinyl records, listens to music, reads, and enjoys good coffee.
