Merry Christmas from GRACE!

If you haven't seen it yet, check out this year's GRACE Christmas Card. We are so thankful for each and every one of you. It has been a challenging year in many ways, but the burden seemed lighter when we were able to carry it together as a school community.

Biblical Worldview Integration

A few weeks ago, Head of School Eric Bradley sent an email to all GRACE teachers requesting they share an example of how they integrated a biblical worldview into their lessons that week. We thought our GRACE community would enjoy reading some of their responses. We plan to share a few responses a week over the next several weeks.

"This week in 5th-grade history, while learning about culture and customs, we discussed the importance and responsibility that Christians have to learn about the cultures of other places. It is important for us to use our Biblical worldview and knowledge of other places to make us better ambassadors or representatives for Christ. We studied Hudson Taylor and how he dressed and wore his hair like the Chinese that he was witnessing to. Other missionaries disapproved, however, the Chinese eventually received the gospel through his teachings and attempts to learn more about their culture." - Lisa Suarez

"In Senior Seminar we used 1 Corinthians 9:24, "Run in such a way that you may win," to remind students as they're writing their 1,000-word essay that it's important to stay committed to "running to win" -- not simply focus on winning. We discussed that how they run is more important than running. We coupled it with a TED Talk about procrastination." - Laura Jacobs

"On Monday we reflected on last week's project which required students to follow the steps of the engineering design process, one of which is planning. We talked about the benefits of planning and discussed Luke 14:28-32 which lists examples of people making a plan and the reason for doing so. We will be following up in future classes with discussions about how God's plan is better than our plan." - Lisa McCarthy
